Sanjeewan Vidyalaya has been built on the firm belief that sports and physical fitness activities lend a special edge to the personalities of learners in their growing years as they...

  • Improve self confidence and self esteem.
  • Improve children’s muscular strength, flexibility and endurance.
  • Serve as a lab for application of content from Science, Mathematics and Social Studies.
  • Facilitate the students taking responsibility for their health and fitness.
  • Influence moral development, create leadership qualities, lead to cooperation among peers.
  • Provide an outlet for releasing tension and anxiety and facilitate emotional stability.
Even in the early period of its growth, when the school did not have a full-fledged play ground, the entire school - the students, the Principals and the staff-used to walk up to Table Land, a plateau near Panchgani, to play football, hockey, cricket, kabbaddi and so on. This conviction is reflected today in the ‘state of the art’ training facilities available at all levels in modern as well as traditional games - facilities which have been painstakingly developed by the school over the years: Sharad Pandit Stadium This is 8 ½ acres of playground, named after Late Principal Sharad Pandit in 1984 to acknowledge his key role in nurturing and developing a sports culture in the school. The stadium, overlooking the Kudal valley, offers the space that all children need for developing and refining their physical skills through football, cricket, athletics, archery, malkhamb and other games. The school was adopted by SAI (Sports Authority of India) for sponsoring sports scholarships and providing special trainers / sports coaches for 5 years. Gen. (Retd.) Narendra Singh, Chairman, SAI personally inaugurated the programme. The school was called upon to organize an ‘All India National Integration Camp’ by the Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Parliamentary Committee, New Delhi. The school runs outward bound and Future Leadership Programme in collaboration with IAYP (International Awards for Young People India), the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Scheme to encourage youth to develop entrepreneurship and self dependence.
